Question: How do I log on to the University computers?

Answer: To log on to the University computer network you will need your username and password, which is printed on your UCLan card.

Using the University computers

When you are logged in to a UCLan computer you are using the University Network. This means that you can sit at a computer anywhere on campus and access any software, any printer and any of your own files that you have saved onto the network.

To use the University computer network you will need your username and password, which is printed on your UCLan card. Your username is usually your initials and last name, possibly followed by a number. The first time you log onto the network you will use the barcode from your UCLan card as your password.

Your username and password will also be sent to you via email during the enrolment process.

When you log on for the first time you will be prompted to change your password to a secure one of your own choosing. You can also reset your password for yourself when needed.

You should also register in advance for the Password Reset service. You can then reset your password for yourself when needed.

Remember to keep your password private and don't allow anyone else to use it to log on to the network.
